The Parsec Awards ceremony was held this past weekend at Dragon-Con in Atlanta and unfortunately, “Disunity” did not take home the prize.  Regardless of this result, I can’t help but be thrilled with this nomination as this episode was the first one for our series – and my directorial debut – so the fact that we could be in contention with established and original sci-fi productions is still a wonderful pat on the back.  On behalf of the Unity team, I want to thank the Parsec Awards for nominating “Disunity” as one of the best Sci-Fi audio dramas for 2007.

Well, here we go again.

Production on our second episode “Disunity, Part 2”, has finally started with us hitting the ground running. After many weeks of pre-production, I’m not only relieved to finally see this day come, but I’m actually very excited about it for two reasons. First, with this news, we can now move from being a one-shot release to a viable series production. And the second reason, and for me the most important, is that this is a really good, character-driven story. Read the rest of this post »

Well, I finally sat down to record a director’s commentary for our first episode “Disunity”, which is now being made available as part of the Star Trek: Unity podcast. And with any director’s commentary, you’ll get to hear what were my thoughts and what I wanted to accomplish in how I directed this episode. Of course, to add a little something extra to this commentary, I also drop a couple of hints about what you can expect to hear in our next episode. (Don’t ya just love those carrot sticks?) Star Trek: Unity’s premiere episode, “Disunity” is a mystery/suspense story featuring Special Guest Star Kurt Carley. Although we can’t divulge the exact plot for this episode (since that would only ruin the mystery), we can say that the story is an allegory to a contemporary issue facing our world today.

Original Release Date: December 15th, 2007.
